(Universal, 1998) A set of (5) production art pieces for the sentient toy soldier action film, Small Soldiers. The set includes a (2) pages of storyboards depicting a young boy sending a Small Soldier on an intelligence collecting mission, an early character design sketch of a humanoid Archer, and (2) pages of early Commando Elite character design sketches of Chip Hazard as well as the unrealized Spot Welder, Chip 1B, and early prototype of Butch Meathook. Accomplished in pencil and marker on art paper, these highly detailed preliminary drawings provide an interesting look at the beginning stages of character development. Ranging in size from 11"x8.5" to 11"x15", the artwork is in generally good condition with some paper clip impressions, wrinkling, creasing, and edge and corner wear.
