North America, Southwestern United States, ca. 19th century CE. A unique folding knife made from steel and wood. The blade is a wedge shape with a thick spine and a broad blade. The edge is sharpened and shows good signs of use. The blade tapers to a narrow end that is riveted into a metal head on the handle. The handle is carved with a slit down the center for the blade to fold into for protection. The wood and steel have both developed nice patina over the years. This might have belonged to a farmer or frontier settler as the knife is of an uncomplicated and lightweight design. Size: 5.5" L x 1" W (14 cm x 2.5 cm)

Stable pressure fissure on handle. Chip along outer edge of handle. Nicks to blade edge. Blade does not stay open and not recommended for use due to a loose rivet. Russet patina on blade. Blade is still quite sharp!
