Civil War General Lew Wallace Signature
A lovely Lewis Wallace signature adhered to a board with a photographic print of Wallace. Signature sheet size 4" x 2.5", with the board size of 7" x 10". Signed by Lewis Wallace "Lew. Wallace", with added notes in another hand describing the photograph "In the library at Crawfordsville Ind", and then again below his signature to include the dates of his life ,"1827-1911". Board is lightly grubby, else a new fine piece.
Lewis Wallace was an American lawyer, Union general in the American Civil War, governor of the New Mexico Territory, politician, and diplomat.
