Description
A lot of 4 bronze stamp seals. Lot includes a Near Eastern bronze stamp seal, c. 1000 - 600 BC, the handle rather elaborate with square base bearing an incised image of a lion, L: 26 mm, also a late Roman - Byzantine silvered bronze stamp seal, pyramidal in shape with losses to suspension loop, on base a lovely swan, 11.5 x 10.5 x 11 mm, third is a nice Byzantine bronze stamp seal, 6th - 9th Century AD, the conical body with faceted sides and thick suspension loop, on base a neatly incised bird, L: 20 mm, last a Roman glass seal or decorative element, c. 1st - 5th Century AD, hemispherical with narrow stud. Within is pale blue glass which has been impressed with a triangular shape. Interesting! Dia: 12 mm. A nice mixed group! Ex collection of Peter Cheremisinoff, NJ.
