[Rubles, Kopeks, Every Excess Penny Must Go Into the Savings Book!], a poster in the mixed photomontage technique tentatively attributed to Leonid Voronov (1899-1938) and Mikhail Evstafiev (1898-1939). The propaganda campaign aimed at persuading the population to keep money in State banks, where they could be used to finance State projects, reached a crescendo in 1927, as the State was trying to accumulate funds before launching the industrialization program. 1927 also saw a spike in inflation, making Soviet people wary of keeping money in the banks.
