Description
My rozhdeny, chtob skazku sdelat' byl'yu! [We Are Born to Make a Fairy Tale Come True!], a poster by Valentin Viktorov (1909-1981). Published by IZOGIZ, Moscow, 1960, 121.5 x 56.5 cm.
The caption to this attractive large poster comes from the Aviation March, the official marching song of the Soviet Air Force. The song's opening lines, We were born to make a fairy tale come true / to conquer space and vastness/) appear to be tailor-made for the dawn of the Spage Age; yet they were written in early 1920s!
