34 pieces coin silver and sterling silver flatware marked for C.J. Adams and Frank Maire or Maier of Bowling Green and Christian Broderson of Russellville, Kentucky. 1st grouping: 15 coin silver spoons marked for Christian Broderson, working Russellville, Kentucky prior to 1860 through 1877. Includes 8 small coin silver teaspoons (5 3/4" L) and 4 larger coin silver teaspoons (6" L) plus 1 table or serving spoon, all with fiddle swell handles, and 2 teaspoons with twisted stems and shaped, engraved handles monogrammed "Davis". 8.6 oz troy. Second grouping: 19 pieces early sterling flatware marked for retailers C.J. Adams & Co. and Frank Maire or Maier of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Includes 3 teaspoons with incuse marks F. MAIER, 2 of which are additionally marked STERLING, for Frank Maire (working c. 1887-1894) plus 1 sugar shovel and 15 teaspoons stamped C.J. ADAMS in cartouche with additional marks STERLING and 925/1000 for C.J. Adams (working 1855-1900). All items have fiddle swell handles and are believed to be sterling. Combined weight: 9.57 oz troy. Condition
First grouping (Broderson spoons): Damage to back of handle of one small teaspoon. Scattered small dents to bowl. Wear to tip of bowl of tablespoon. All items monogrammed. Second grouping (Adams and Maier spoons): Most items overall good condition. One Maier teaspoon in poor condition with signs of disposal damage and discoloration. One Adams teaspoon with repaired tear to bowl. One Adams teaspoon with bends to handle. Some spoons with dents to bowl and wear to tips of bowl. Most items monogrammed.
