THE ENGLISH DANCE OF DEATH, Vol. I-II, by William Combe, with illustrations by Thomas Rowlandson, printed by J. Diggens, published by R. Ackermann, London, ca. 1815-16. Hardcover octavos, 594 total gilt-edged pages with a hand-colored aquatint frontispiece, illustrated title page, and 72 additional full page illustrations, volume I with front advertisement, rebound in navy blue leather with gilt lettering and gilt blindstamping to spines, five raised hubs, and marbled end papers. Ex libris plates to interior of front covers. Approximately 9 1/2" H x 6 3/8" W x 1 1/4" D. Provenance: The Estate of Edith (Edie) M. Bass, Nashville, Tennessee, by descent from her parents, Walter Paul McBride and Claire Childs of Lake Forest, Illinois.
Condition
Covers in overall good condition with rubbing to leather, corners bumped. Pages with toning/toning impressions, foxing spots, to be expected from age. Illustrations are collated.
