(Paris, 1683). Two miniature maps from cartographer Alain Manesson Mallet's "Description de L'Univers" (Paris, 1863) - both copper engraved and hand colored in wash and outline. One depicts Scotland and the other Ceylon. A beautiful pair of 17th century Manesson miniature maps set in matching custom frames. Size: 7.125" L x 4.875" W (18.1 cm x 12.4 cm)

Maps have not been examined outside the frames; however, both present with strong imagery, text, and hand coloring. Frames have minor scuffs/nicks but are otherwise very good.
