Description
Triebner, Ens & Eckert (German, 1877-1894), late 19th century. Pair of Volkstedt porcelain shell-form sweet meat dishes in the rococo taste, each having gilt floral decoration, with a maiden surrounded by putti playing musical instruments, and rising on a naturalistic rocaille base. Marked to underside. Approx. of one, h. 11.5", w. 9.5", d. 5.75".
Condition
Both with minimal enamel loss. Both with scattered minor gilt loss. One with small chip to ruffled bowl of sweet meat---not distracting. Same with clear celaphane coat to inside of bowl---does not fluoresce under black light. One figure missing flute. No apparent signs of repair.
