Rare 18th Century French Faience Soup Tureen, Platter. Attributed to Paul Hanong, Strasbourg.The rococo scallop-moulded tureen with cover knop formed as a putto holding open a dragon's mouth; the dragon's right forepaw upon a snail, with two dragon-head form handles; the sides painted with floral and rockworks Chinoiseries in shaped cartouches, the platter of conforming design; both articles enamelled in shades of green and red, and with floral sprays. Mid 18th Century. {Approximate dimensions: Tureen 14 1/2 high x 16 wide x 9 inches deep, platter 23 1/2 wide x 13 1/2 inches deep.}. Condition: Some crazing. Surface marks throughout. Small chip to flange of cover.
