Description
For your consideration are (2) 19th Century American coin silver spoons from Barney & Valentine of Syracuse, New York. Each spoon is classic designed and carries a "W" monogram on its head. The reverse of each spoon carries a double-stamped mark reading "Barney & Valentine" and a set of (4) pseudo-marks. The pseudo-marks, commonly used in the mid-1800s (especially in NY), depict bust in profile, an asterisk, an "S" and an eagle with spread wings. Each spoon measures 6" in length and the set weighs 1.7 ounces.
