EDWARD TOVREA will speak from LONDON American Eagle Hdq.6- 630 KOY TONIGHT" accompanied by a Arizona Republic 1942 newspaper announcing the broadcast, while stationed in London certain soldiers and airmen were afforded the opportunity to call home to local radio stations and broadcast brief messages, Lt. Tovrea broadcast was as follows: Announcer: “….now…someone else from the United States Air Force coming up for our next message. This one is for Box 2010 in Phoenix, Arizona, and it’s from Lieutenant E.A. Tovrea. Lieutenant Tovrea; “Hello Ma and Pa, guess you didn’t expect to hear my voice from London but anyway here I am and having a very good time. Sure do miss you all. Feeling fine and am OK except I sure could go for a great big steak smothered in pork chops, Love you all…bye now.” (live background laughter heard in the studio).
