A. TAPLIN NO. 1 HINGED LIP BURNER, thumbwheel marked "A. TAPLIN. PAT. MAR.1.1864.", non-period lip chimney. Fitted on a colorless unidentified ribbed band finger lamp, applied handle, No. 1 Taplin-Brown collar. Third quarter 19th century. Lamp 3 1/2" H to top of collar, 3 5/8" D base.
Provenance: From the collection of Abigail and the late Edward Meyer of Plantsville, CT.
Burner deflector with a minute dent and thumbwheel knob loose, chimney undamaged. Lamp with a faint crack to tip of upper terminal handle, collar with a dent.
