TODD, Thelma (1906-1935). A large inscribed and signed dramatic photograph. 1930s. Matte-finish sepia-tone profile photograph of Todd in lace dress and fancy hat. Inscribed: “To ‘Benny’/I love laughs--/so I’ll pay my ‘sheckels’/anytime to see Blue/May you enjoy a worthy/success/Thelma Todd.” 10 7/8 x 13 7/8”. Diagonal crease through inscription; several tears and creases affecting image, and one affecting inscription. A rare Hollywood autograph, with impeccable provenance, of a starlet who died tragically at age 29. Provenance: Inscribed to Ben Blue (1901-1975), Canadian-American actor and comedian; from the estate of Thomas M. Blue, Ben’s son.
