Description
Group from US Navy Captain James M. Lane, who was a graduate of the US Naval Academy class of 1926, and became a Naval Aviator in 1930. He served in China aboard the USS Houston in 1932, was a pilot aboard the USS Saratoga from 1936-38, and commanded the Seaplane Tender USS Hulbert from 1941-42, which was present at the Attack on Pearl Harbor, and shot down a Japanese torpedo bomber. From 1942-44, he was XO of the USS Lexington, and from 1948-40 Captain of the USS Rendova. The lot consists of his M. No. Yangtze Service Medal (No: 11746), Navy Commendation Medal for commanding the USS Hulburt, campaign medals, Officers cap badge, engraved napkin holder, and desk name plate with Chinese characters on the reverse. Comes with a large amount of biographical copied info.
