Description
Pre WWII - WWII Group of items from Warrant Officer, Marine Gunner, later Lieutenant Chifton C. Willoughby. He served in the 1930s, notably aboard the USS Henderson, in Nicaragua in 1933, in Shanghai China from 1934-37 with the 4th Marines, USS West Virginia from 1941-42 (He was the Sergeant Major of the Marine Detachment aboard during the attack on Pearl Harbor). The group included his marksmanship medals, dog tags, ribbons, and medals to include engraved Good Conduct, Yangtze Service, 2nd Nicaragua Campaign, Marine Expeditionary, and more. The brooches on some of the medals look period replaced. Good condition for their ages.
