Here, in Key West, you picked your finny choice as it swam around in enclosures the conchs called "cars" and which were tied alongside their dinghys. Your choice made, the conch fisherman would net it out of the water, kill the fish by a blow with a club and, in your presence, dress it for you. And off you'd go with a nice mess of fish (usually 3 1-pound yellowtails.......All for 15¢. UNBELIEVABLE!
