NEW JERSEY GOVERNORS' SIGNED DOCUMENTS (15), C. 1845-1900:Including 1 Charles C. Stratton autograph letter signed, dated May18th, 1845; 1 Daniel Haines autograph letter signed (illegible), dated 1849; 1 letter signed by Marcus L. Ward, June 30th, 1868; 1 document with official seal signed by Charles S. Olden (1799-1876, governor 1860-63) and dated July 5th, 1860; and an assortment of 11 commissions from the executive department of the State of New Jersey, from August 1870 to June 1900, signatures include Theodore Fitz Rudolph, Joseph D. Bedle, George B. McClellan, George C. Ludlow, Leon Abbett, Robert Stockton Green, George Theodore Werts, John W. Griggs, David Ogden Watkins, Foster M. Voorhees, and William M. Johnson (Acting Governor during the absence of Governor Voorhees, May-August 1900).
Condition
Condition as to be expected considering age and material of documents and is fairly evident in the photos provided. The first letter is stained and creased; the second has stains along the left side of the paper, and has about an inch of loss across the top. There are two documents from the assortment that have severe stains and two that have several tears along the edges. ENC
