A silver covered tankard Peter Van Dyck (1684-1750), New York, NY, circa 1720
(H: 7 1/2 in. L: 9 in. (including handle), Dia: 5 1/2 in. (diameter of lid), Weight: 33.43 oz. t.)
Tapered body, molded foot with cut card decoration, the stepped lid with shaped front and corkscrew thumbpiece at hinge, the scrolled handle with applied female masque draped with fruiting swags, terminating in oval piece with applied putto masque, engraved monogram to handle, "H*M," marked twice to body near upper rim.
