Description
Two American Mantel Clocks, c. 1900, one an open escapement Art Nouveau brass example, now with a seated classical female surmount; together with a Seth Thomas brass crystal regulator example with a floral urn surmount, over a floral painted enamel dial time and strike clock with a mercury pendulum, within four beveled glass sides, on a stepped base, Seth Thomas- H.- 17 in., W.- 8 3/8 in., D.- 5 3/4 in. (2 Pcs.) Provenance: Palmira, the Estate of Sarkis Kaltakdjian (Sarkis Oriental Rugs), Prairieville, Louisiana.
Condition
Unable to test clocks for working order. Woman is detached originally and rests on top of clock. There is a crack to one leg of hr stool. Minor loss of gilt on her face, shoulder, clock, and other areas on the clock case. Interior mechanism is present but winding key is not. Scratches to brass on bottom of interior and around the front door pull. Handsome examples.
