Description
Four very early bicycle manufacturer and wheel repair company stock certificates issued from 1897-1900. Included are: The Carriage Cycle Co., incorporated in New Jersey 1896, No. 237, 5 shares issued in 1897 to C. H. Jordan, not canceled, signed by President James Buckman, Secretary Jas. H. Boggs and Treasurer David Jones. With eagle vignette, embossed seal and ornate border. In plastic sleeve, good condition, three small square holes, two folds with edge tears. According to The Wheelman Organization, Carriage Cycle was a bicycle manufacturing company in Marion, OH, in 1898. Also included are three certificates issued by The Carriage and Wheelman's Repair Association, Jersey City, NJ, inc. 1890: No. 32, 5 shares issued in 1897 to James. C. Carter, uncanceled, signed by President H. F. Torrey and Treasurer J.P. Torrey, with Lady Liberty vignette, embossed gold seal, and ornate border, fine condition, two minor folds; No. 8, 5 shares issued in 1897 to James C. Carter, uncanceled, signed by President H. F. Torrey and Treasurer J.P. Torrey, eagle vignette, gold embossed seal, and ornate border, fine condition with minor folds and tears; and No. 119, 5 shares issued in 1900 to James. C. Carter, uncanceled, signed by president and Secretary & Treasurer J. H.
