Six Stock Certificates from Civil War Era Oil Companies
A mixed group of six stock certificates relating to various oil companies during and following the Civil War. Varying in size, dating from ca. 1860s to 1894. All have flattened folds and varying degrees of toning and soiling. There is tape at the fold on verso of one certificate. Boldly signed certificates with some additional transfer or cancellation writing on the verso of some. Please refer to the photographs for further condition information. Overall, very good.

1. The Hiland Petroleum Company. New York, dated March 1, 1872. No. 113, issuing 60 Shares of $1.00 Capitol Stock. 2. Hibberd Oil Company. Philadelphia, dated November 25, 1864. No. 336, issuing 100 shares of $5.00 Capitol Stock.
3. Germania Petroleum Company. New York, dated November 2, 1864. No. 517, issuing 200 shares of $5.00 Capital Stock.
4. Hoffman Petroleum Company. New York, dated September 7, 1894. No. 1254, issuing 400 shares of $10 Capital Stock.
5. Duquesne Oil Company. Philadelphia, n.d. [ca. 1860s]. No. 110, issuing 150 shares of $1.00 Capital Stock.
6. Herkimer County Mining & Petroleum Company. Herkimer, New York, dated January 1, 1866. No. 98, issuing one share of $100 Capital Stock.
