Description

An interesting Revolutionary War era relic, a naval 'chain shot' projectile consisting of two iron cannonballs connected by linked chain. The balls are roughly 3 in. diameter and are connected by a 26 in. iron chain. Heavily oxidized, in 'dug' condition. Naval chain shot was often used by ships to tear apart the rigging of enemy vessels, rendering them ineffective.
