Description
(1872-1939) American author best known for his popular adventure and western novels. In addition to having great success selling printed works, many of Grey's novels or short stories have been adapted into movies or T.V. shows. Pages from one of Grey's diaries (unsigned), 5pp. 4to., [n.p.], May to June 1928, mostly describing hiking trips as well as beginning a new book. In part: '...This morning I got up early, dressed in heavy clothes, and started up the mountain road, the first time in three years...A golden eagle soared over me, close enough for me to see his speckled breast...Yesterday I started another novel, the third since last Oct. Arizona Aimes. It is easy and thrilling to write. I get a strange ecstasy about the creation of characters and the expression of my feeling for places...' File holes on the left margin, else fine. Arizona Aimes was a western story published by Grey in 1932, and it would inspire the 1937 Hollywood movie 'Thunder Trail.'
