Egyptian, Late Period, 26th Dynasty mid 6th cent. B.C..Green glazed faience. H. 14 cmExceptionally beautiful executed mummy-shaped funerary figure (Shabti) of Pa-di-Neith, son of Hetep-Bastet the intendant of the horses and scribe of the royal stables of king Ahmose. The owner wears a string wig and holds in his hands agricultural implements. The front is uninscribed. A vertical inscription line with an abbreviated version of the Book of the Dead spell 6 is on the back pillar: "When you count Pa-di-Neith, born of the Hetep-Bastet, to do any work in the afterlife, "Here I am" you shall say". Excellent preservation, minor chip on beard.Collection Carl Leonhard Burckhardt (1902-1965).
