Armenian ceramic plate, decorated with a gazelle and vegetal patterns. Painted and glazed clay. Apparently, made by the workshop of David Ohannessian. Jerusalem, Palestine. Circa the 1920s.The Armenian pottery workshop in Jerusalem was founded in 1919, at the end of WWI, when the British invited the iznik master potter David Ohannessian to help with the restoration of the tiles of the Dome of the rock mosque in Jerusalem. Diameter: approximately 22 cm. Good condition, chips, wear.
