Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A truly breathtaking vessel free blown from translucent glass and boasting shimmering splotches of neon rainbow iridescence throughout. The gorgeous jar presents an apple-form body with a round shoulder, a conical neck, and a double-rimmed mouth with 1 flared lip and 1 rolled, all sitting upon a concave base. The mesmerizing surface of this elegant example will dazzle any viewer! Truly a wonder to behold! Size: 2.9" Diameter x 3.6" H (7.4 cm x 9.1 cm)

Repair to rim with small loss and break lines visible. Pontil mark on underside of base. A pontil scar or mark indicates that a vessel was free-blown, while the absence of such a mark suggests that the work was either mold-blown or that the mark was intentionally smoothed away or wore away over time. Otherwise, excellent with gorgeous iridescence. Collection label on base.
