Fantastic Ann Eliza Young Signed Card
Ann Eliza Young signed card 3.5" x 2.25”. Signed “Mrs Ann Eliza Young”, and dated “February 24th 1874." The card was signed a year after she filed for divorce, and a year before her divorce was granted from Brigham Young.
Ann Eliza Young (1844-1917) also known as Ann Eliza Webb Dee Young Denning was one of Brigham Young's fifty-five wives, and later a critic of polygamy. Ann Eliza called herself Young's "wife no. 19," while others referred to her as his "27th wife." One researcher concluded that she was actually the 52nd woman to marry Young. After her divorce from young, she would speak out against the suppression of women and became an advocate for women's rights during the 19th century.
