Description
French, 18th century. Carved oak or walnut provincial regence/Louis XV tall case clock, having a scrolled foliate decorated hood, enamel dial with Roman numerals, later Louis Boname movement, the trunk with single arched door, and rising on a stepped plinth base. The mechanism marked for Louis Boname. Provenance: From a Private Collection, Highlands, North Carolina. Approx. h. 107.75", w. 14.5", d. 8.5".
Condition
Later 19th century key-wound movement - no weights of pendulum; key is present; untested - would recommend professional servicing; wear to case; evidence of previous worming (inactive); case is structurally sound.
