Description
Enameled Tin Sign, Hamilton Brown Shoe Co Chatham NY. Yellow, red, white, and black enameled sign originally made for shoe manufacturer in St. Louis. These signs were likely produced some time around 1907–1909, when the Hamilton-Brown Company offered their "security shoes" to distributors like Brown Shoe Co of Chatham NY. Slogan at lower right endearingly boasts of something called "shoe supremacy," though this claim is somewhat tempered by the rust spots encroaching from the corner.
Dimensions are 14 in h x 19.75 in w. Condition is good, with some rust spots, faded ink, and dents throughout. Bottom right corner is heavily rusted. Please call or email for a detailed condition report.
