Description
This modest Staffordshire figure c.1840, once on loan to the British Museum of Fine Arts, illustrates a pivotal moment in British theatre, when David Garrick made his debut, aged twenty-four, as Richard III at Goodman’s Fields Theatre in Aldgate on Monday 19th October 1741.
