Seven (7) spoons, sterling and coin silver, marked for Samuel Ayres of Kentucky and T.R.J. Ayres of KY and Iowa. 1st item: Early small teaspoon with oval handle, marked S. AYRES in rectangle for Samuel Ayres, working Lexington KY 1786-1823 and Danville, KY 1823-1824. 2nd-6th items: Five (5) sterling dessert or tablespoons with unusually large bowls, Whiting maker's marks and incuse marks for retailer Thomas Robinson Jamison Ayres, working Danville 1823-1857 and c. 1861-1870; Keokuk IA 1857-1860 and post 1870. Monogrammed S. 7th item: 1 coin silver teaspoon with fiddle handle, marked J.R. AYRES and PURE COIN in rectangles, possibly an additional mark for Thomas Robinson Jamison Ayres. Monogrammed M.A. Dayton. Combined sterling weight: 5.53 troy ounces. Combined coin silver weight: 0.94 troy ounces.
