Pair King Hostick Abraham Lincoln silver gelatin photograph prints. These were printed by Yousuf Karsh from the original negatives by Alexander Hesler. Comes with a Karsh certificate, numbered 117A and 117B.

These photographs are two of four known portraits of Abraham Lincoln taken by Alexander Hesler on June 3, 1860, at the Old State House in Springfield, IL. These photographs were originally taken two weeks after Lincoln was nominated for President by the Republican National Convention in Chicago. Lincoln had high praise for these photographs, he said of the two portraits: That looks better and expresses me better than any I have ever seen; if it pleases the people I am satisfied [Ostendorf, 47].
