Description
North America, United States, Massachusetts, Brookline, ca. 1933 to 1950 CE. A lovely high-quality silver tea service set with five pieces made by the Crown Silver Company. Included is a lidded sugar bowl, coffee pot, 2 tea pots, and a burner stand for the tilting teapot. All are matching in an ornate rococo style with scrolling handles, spouts, feet, and lobed bodies. The lids each have an orange acrylic ribbed knob and the pots' lids are all attached by hinges. The large tilting teapot has fittings near the base for securing to the burner stand, so the pot could tilt forward secured by the pins at the tip of the chains. The bases are marked with the crown emblem and "CSC" initials for the Crown Silver Company. Size (sugar bowl): 8" L x 4.5" W x 4.375" H (20.3 cm x 11.4 cm x 11.1 cm); (coffee pot): 9.5" L x 5.5" W x 8.5" H (24.1 cm x 14 cm x 21.6 cm); silver quality of vessels: 80.7% to 98.2%; silver quality of burner stand: 50%; total weight: 4399.85 grams

Condition
Mineral deposits on handle of tilting teapot. Areas of cleanable patina and toning on all. Expected surface abrasions from age and use. Minor chips to lid knobs. Rubbing and softening of maker marks, but mostly discernable.
