Two color lithographs of fish: “The Striped Bass” and “The Bluefish”. Both signed in the plate.
On paper, 7” x 11”. Framed 14.5” x 18.5”.
Note:
Sherman Foote Denton worked as an artist for the United States Fish Commission at the Smithsonian Institute between 1890 and 1896, where he illustrated their reports and also developed and patented a method for mounting fish without losing the natural colors.
Condition
Striped Bass has a small spot near upper edge, otherwise excellent.
