Description
A colorful Chase & Co. Mohair lap robe, having a central image of a bust of a dog with real glass eyes within a floral arrangement, labeled on reverse "CHASE". Late 19th to early 20th century. Very good condition - 48" x 58". Note - The robe was originally thought to be from the mid-1920s, but, according to Harland Eastman, President of the Sanford-Springvale Historical Society in Sanford, Maine, where the blanket was made at Sanford Mills, the animal motif dates the carriage robe to as early as the 1880s.
