Description
Two (2) American quilted textiles. 1st Item: Hand-pieced and hand-quilted Log Cabin quilt in the Sunshine/Shadow layout, made from Challis wool fabrics in shades of green and red, with red centers to each block. Made on a foundation and joined to a woven novelty dark green striped border, with by-the-piece quilting throughout, using a dark thread. Hand-bound front to back with the top fabric turned to the back and sewn down. Has light cotton batting, and a printed red cotton robe fabric with leaf motifs. 77" H x 75" W. Possibly Pennsylvania, Circa 1890. 2nd item: Machine-pieced and quilted one-patch lap robe composed of a variety of wool dress fabrics including of solid brown, orange, and grey fabrics and blue and brown plaid fabrics arranged in square blocks. Having orange wool big stitch embroidered outlines, by-the-piece quilting throughout, a knife-edge border on all four sides, and synthetic maroon backing. 57" H x 42" W. Circa 1930.

Condition
1st item: Some scattered holes with foundation cloth visible, fading to green fabric, fraying on all four sides of borders. 2nd item: Light use wear to top, staining and minute holes to back.
