Slave and Land Dower 1822 Kentucky, Fascinating!
Manuscript Document Signed, "Joseph Barnett", "John Floyd", and "Willm. Miller", as witnesses, 1p, 7.75" x 12.5", Madison County, February 22, 1822. Land survey sketch at top right. Docketing and endorsement at verso. Folds with minor paper loss at intersections, separation at edges of folds, toning, foxing, else Very Good.
Legal court document, an allotment of dower to the widow of James Walker, in part, "do allott unto the said Nancy Broaddus one hundred and twelve acres her dower in the Tract of land whereon the said James died...And also in pursuance of said Order we allott unto the said Nancy Broaddus late Nancy Walker...her dower of said Estate in slaves to Wit Beverly a Negroe man, Dick a negroe boy about ten years old & David a boy child about two years old..."
