Description
DIMINUTIVE GEORGE III STERLING OVAL TUREEN BY THOMAS PEPPER I
London, England, 1773, hall marked. Foliate finial to the lid, shaped handles to the festoon decorated tureen with beaded trim, on matching tray. Tray 10.8" width; 1150 grams
Condition
One handle on the under-tray is broken, but still in place and still very solidly in place. We've looked over this lot including the finial on the lid, the edge around the lid, beaded rim of the boat, both handles, the festoon decorations, the lower rim of the boat, the beaded rim of the under-tray and both handles with only the break on the one handle apparent. There doesn't appear to be any thin areas of silver to either of the 3 parts.
