Northern Europe, United Kingdom, England, Victorian Period, ca. 1887 CE. A delightful pair of brass candlesticks made for the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria - also known as her 50th anniversary of her accession to the throne - celebrated on June 20th, 1887. Each of these lovely candlesticks presents a tiered stem with an egg-shaped knop bearing the design of 6 incised target motifs, a tubular sconce, and a discoid nozzle with a flared rim for catching wax, all sitting upon an octagonal base. The words "GOOD LUCK" are inscribed on the periphery of both candles' bases, featuring an upside down horseshoe between the 2 words.
