BOAT BINNACLE America, Circa 1880 Signed on the 16-point compass card "John Bliss & Co. New York". Contained within a brass and metal casement and marked on the brass bezel "2571". Double gimbal supports the compass with a weighted base. Set within a mahogany housing with a hinged glazed oval viewing port, a small blank ivory nameplate at the front, and a removable oil brass sidelight with reticulated dome top and burner.
