Description
The larger a ko-sometsuke style pot with lobed sides interspersing various key, scale, prunus and diaper patterns with lines of roundels containing figures, horses, rabbits, scenery, symbols, and other small vignettes. The interior with beaded garlands, the rim with brown dressing. Character mark to base. The pot is repaired after having been badly broken; sold as-is. Offered together with a narrow Japanese brush pot with a Chinese-style prunus decoration on green ground. Red mark to base, likely Fukagawa. Approx. 7" H. Provenance: Estate of Cayce Odom of Charlottesville, VA.
