Description
Copeland Spode Tyg (three-handled loving cup) Commemorating the Boer War (1899-1900) that presents thee panels including; 1.) profile bust of Queen Victoria, inscribed Victoria Queen and Empress, Comforter of the Afflicted, surrounded by the Union Jack and flags and seals of the above the motto "Equal Rights for All". 2.) Portrait medallions of Field Marshal Lord Roberts (Commander in Chief) and the Marquis of Salisbury (Prime Minister), inscribed and titled with mottos "Imperial Federation" and "Unity is Strength". 3.) Figure of Britannia being welcomed by a kneeling South African farmer with mottos "Britannia Tower of Justice" and "Defender of the Oppressed". Tyg measures 5.75" in height and 8" in diameter.
