Description
North America, United States, East Coast, Colonial culture, ca. 18th century CE. A lovely ensemble of 10 mold-made, pottery pipes, each presenting an "L"-shaped form with a narrow mortise, a brief shank, a tall bowl, and a wide fill hole. All enveloped in lustrous glazes, the fascinating pipes display varying hues of violet, orange, grey, and green. Their exteriors are additionally adorned by relief decoration of striated and lattice motifs. Size (all about the same): 1.6" L x 1" W x 1.6" H (4.1 cm x 2.5 cm x 4.1 cm)

Provenance: private Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA collection; ex-Dr. David Harner collection, Springdale, Arkansas, USA, acquired between the 1950s to 1960s

Condition
Repair to rim of 1 pipe. Expected chips, nicks, and abrasions throughout, commensurate with age. Otherwise, all are very nice with great glaze. A few have a lovely iridescence.
