**Originally Listed At $400**

North America, probably Mexico, late Spanish Colonial Period, ca. early 19th century CE. A forged-iron brand with a lengthy body, a tapered conical socketing shaft, and an openwork brand bearing an intertwined "D" and backwards "E." Brands like this were used by ranchers at Catholic missions by attaching them to lengthy poles to branding cattle at a safe distance. Size: 15.125" L x 3.375" W (38.4 cm x 8.6 cm)
