Description
This Blickensderfer No. 5 typewriter was manufactured by the Blickensderfer Manufacturing Company of Stamford, Connecticut between 1895 and 1896. George C. Blickensderfer founded the Blickensderfer Manufacturing Company in Stamford, Connecticut in 1893 making 9 different models until 1917. In overall VG original condition with good paint, keys, plating, and platen. Operates as it should but carriage is sluggish. Needs a good cleaning and lube. Comes with one type wheel on the machine and 2 extra wheels in the wood carrying case. Case has original finish and latches but missing leather carrying strap. Although this is the correct case for this machine, it does not seat properly. Also comes with screwdriver and 2 glass tubes of ink in cardboard sleeves.
