First quarter 19th century, mixed woods. Neoclassical shape with yellow, smoked paint, gold and black striping stenciled fruit on crest, back splat with anthemion, turned front legs and tulip stretcher. Rush seat with cross pattern has some damage. Both side pieces have splits, some wear and varnish. 17.75" seat, 33"h.

Good overall color, paint has some wear in appropriate areas (crest, legs, stretchers, front of seat). Side rails of seat each have a split near the post and exposed square nails. Seat has a few split rushes. Small area of inpainting on left side of back post (doesn’t show unless you’re right on it). Minor seam separation at either end of crest.
