John Brown (Scottish, active 19th century), mahogany and mahogany veneered tall case clock having a shaped cornice, painted face with arch and battle scene titled "Covenanters at Loudon Hill", Roman numerals, spandrels with symbols of England, Ireland, Scotland, and Whales, rising on toupie feet. Signed "J. Brown" "Kilmarnock" to the face. Approx. h. 86", w. 23.5", d. 10.5".
Condition
Minor wear to case; wear to feet; clock did not run during testing - would recommend a professional servicing; pendulum, weights and key are present.
