This is a gorgeous vintage 1966 Fender Coronado II guitar, more like a work of art. Named the Coronado II because of its 2 pickups, this baby is very lightweight at 6lbs 1.4 ounces (2kg/760g). SERIAL NUMBER: 188986. Guitar is 100% original, no modifications. Features beautiful red translucent nitro finish with double binding that has naturally yellowed around the body and F holes. Some nice body checking. There are some marks and swirls on both the front and back of the body but nothing to worry about, the red finish stands out completely. There is light pick swirling on the pickguard. All chrome hardware has remained shiny with no pitting. There is patina on the strap buttons and string tree. A little rusting on the bridge saddles, but all intonation and height screws are in perfect working order. The neck is exquisite with its white binding and rosewood fretboard with pearloid rectangular inlays. Crazy checking on both sides of the headstock with nice F tuners. There is one scratch on the back of the neck underneath the 2nd fret. Neck has a 7.25 radius, frets have minimal wear, plenty of life left. This baby has a cool rockabilly sound to it. Pots are a little scratchy but still work fine. Switch tip has a crack but still functions normally, no issues. This lovely vintage Coronado II comes with its original case made by the Victoria Luggage Co. Case is in good vintage condition with one latch partially missing, markings, scrapes and some missing black covering material mainly on the corners. Overall, this would make a great addition to any collection, shop, or home. As always please see all photos for more detail.
